English for Hotel and Catering

Because this field is almost entirely focused on serving the customer, the course relies heavily on authentic, "hands-on" practice for the student. Students are encouraged to bring their own working experiences to the course in order to provide them with relevant study material, hence personalising the course. This has the result of not only providing the student with an incentive to learn, but also making the course meaningful for their careers.

During the course, the following points will be studied:
  • Hotel types
  • Recreational facilities
  • Room reservations
  • Using the telephone
  • Checking-in
  • Giving directions
  • Describing facilities
  • Hotel services/room types
  • Dealing with complaints
