It aims to improve both their communication and comprehension skills in order for them to become proficient users of the English language.

This course offers extensive instruction and practice in the four skills: speaking, reading, writing and listening. It provides a solid curriculum which covers all aspects of grammar, builds vocabulary, practises pronunciation and gives students a well-balanced variety of exercises and activities. Furthermore, learners will be expected to speak English at all times, thus consolidating their speaking and listening skills. All course books are accompanied by an audio cassette and the teacher makes use of a workbook which provides further exercises and activities to supplement the course

The course takes students from Beginner level to Advanced, and is divided into six different levels. Each level has its own course book.

Beginner
This course is designed for those students who have a very limited knowledge of English. It covers basic grammar and vocabulary that will enable the students to begin effectively learning the four language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking. At the end of this course, students will have a sound platform on which to develop their study of English.

Elementary
This course introduces the English tense system in a more developed way than at the beginner level. It expands present, past and future tenses, develops vocabulary and covers parts of speech (e.g. nouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions, etc.) It also provides extensive practice in the four skills. On completion of this course, students will be familiar with the fundamental structures of the English language.

Pre-intermediate
This course revises and expands upon language learned in the Elementary course as well as introducing some more complicated structures and functions. On completing this course, students will be effective, though not perfect communicators in English, and will have developed a good level of confidence in their ability.

Intermediate
At this level, the focus is on function and the use of English. All grammar structures will be revised but the emphasis will be on the correct uses of these structures. On completion of this course, students will be effective communicators able to manage complex sentences, using an extensive range of vocabulary.

Upper Intermediate
At this level, students are introduced to subtleties of English such as idioms, literary English and connotation. The tense system is revised and different functions of structures, such as modals and conditionals, are fully examined. On completion of this course, students will have a high level of fluency, and will be capable of employing and understanding different uses of English depending on purpose and situation.

Advanced
Having reached this level, students will have already been introduced to, revised and extensively practised all areas of the English language. The focus here is on perfecting their knowledge and increasing their understanding of the finer points of appropriacy and usage. On completing this course, the students will be capable of communicating and understanding English in all situations.
