Introduction to Internet
With over 15 million hosts and more than 100 million users worldwide, the Internet has
become an important and powerful online information resource as well as an effective
communication tool. The introductory Internet class is designed for students who want to
learn how to use the various applications available on the internet to communicate with
other users such as Telnet, Internet Relay Chat (IRC), Electronic Mail (E-Mail), FTP and
Usenet. Additional topics covered are a brief history of the Internet and various uses of
the Internet in personal and business endeavours.Advanced
Internet Applications
This class is designed for students who want to learn how to access the Internet and use
an Internet browser program such as Netscape or Microsoft Explorer to search for
information on the World-Wide Web (WWW). Students will be learn how to find specific web
pages, download files from the Internet, create bookmarks, save files to disk, and browse
several pages simultaneously.
HTML
This class is designed for students who want to learn to create and design Home Pages
using the Hyper text Mark-up programming language. The course will teach the basics of
HTML such as inputting a picture and formatting the fonts and graphic objects, as well as
the commands necessary for creating a Home Page. In addition, students will learn how to
link internal and external pages, together with controlling the objects in a Home Page.
Microsoft Front Page
This class is designed for students who want to learn how to create and design a Home Page
using Microsoft Front Page. Students will learn how to manipulate the templates, create
special types of pages, edit a home page, insert text and graphics, format text within a
Home Page and use the Wizard to facilitate your Home Page production. |
